2. Manufacturing Plants in Russia:

In 2015, Great Wall Motors announced the construction of its first overseas production factory outside China. The company decided to construct the factory in Russia.

GWM started constructing this factory in Uzlovaya Industrial Park, Tula, in 2017.

This plant holds significant importance as it is the first Chinese vehicle plant in Russia with four production processes. Tula plant is spread over 2.16 million square meters and took 18 million rubies to complete.

Within two years, the factory started its operations with bulk production of Haval cars. What’s exciting is that it can produce more than 150,000 cars annually.

This plant is a milestone in GWMs global expansion and a key step in Haval’s history The multipurpose complex also houses an engine factory. Almost all of the engines used in Haval cars “Made in Russia” are manufactured here.

3. Manufacturing Factory of Haval Cars in Thailand:

Last but not least, some Haval cars are also manufactured in Thailand. In 2020, General Motors announced selling its only plant in Thailand to GWM. The plant got transferred to GWM at the end of the year.

This plant is located in Rayong. After renovation, production at this plant rolled off in June 2021. For factory up-gradation and Electric Vehicles production, the company invested THB 22 billion. The first cars manufactured here were the Haval H6.

Initially, the company planned to build only mid-sized SUVs here. Rayong plant has an annual production capacity of more than 80,000 units.

60% of the total output will be supplied within the country. GWM exports the remaining to different countries.

The company next started production of Haval Jolion at this plant. In November 2021, Haval Jolion debuted in the market.
