Where are Vizio TVs Made in 2023? Who Makes Them?

Where are Vizio TVs made

Vizio was founded in 2002 as V INC, but later on, its founder changed its name to Vizio. It is an American publicly-traded company that manufactures and sells TVs and sound systems.

Well, now you might be wondering where are Vizio TVs made. Without further ado, let’s find the answer.

Where are Vizio TVs made?

Vizio TVs are designed in California, and after approval, they are manufactured by different companies in China, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Mexico.

However, most of the Vizio TV production comes from China and Mexico. The outsourcing is done to companies like Tonly, Innolux, Zylux, BOE, Foxconn, and TPV.

99% of the labor and production is outsourced to third-party original equipment manufacturers called OEMs. Many people think that Vizio TVs are manufactured in the United States, but this isn’t the case.

The American publicly traded company designs, markets, and sells TV while all TV manufacturing is done outside the US.

Let’s have a closer and more in-depth look at where Samsung TVs are manufactured.

Who Makes Vizio TVs?

Although Vizio TVs are made in various countries, most of the company’s TVs are made in China and Mexico. Let’s discussion about their manufacturing facilities.

Amtran Technology Ltd, a Taiwanese company, manufactures most of the Vizio TV. The American owns 24% of Vizio and has a significant stake in Vizio.

The company has a manufacturing and assembling unit in Suzhou, China.

The cheap labor and inexpensive components in Asia lower the company’s overall cost. It supplies 80% of Vizio products.

Foxconn Electronics makes larger versions such as the 60 inches TV or the bigger variants.

It is a multi-national electronic contract manufacturer that is the largest employer in China and manufactures many famous products worldwide, such as Playstation, Sony devices, Nintendo, etc.

Smaller versions of Vizio TVs are made by another manufacturer in China, the TPV technology. It has a market share of over 33% of computer monitors, making it the world’s largest manufacturer.

Production plants of Vizio TV in Mexico:

Most of Vizio’s larger flat TVs are made in Tijuana, Mexico. Shifted initially from China, the company had the aim to cut costs due to an increase in tariff on imported LCD panels.

The shipping costs will also be reduced due to closer manufacturing units.

Foxconn manufactures Vizio TVs in their manufacturing facility in Ciudad Juarez, near the US-Mexican border. In addition, it has five factories in Mexico where Vizio TVs are assembled.

The trade tensions between the US and China have prompted the company to shift its manufacturing and assembling to other countries, including Mexico, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Are Vizio TVs Good?

The world of TVs has changed a lot over the years. The first LED televisions were extremely expensive and looked like something out of science fiction.

Nowadays, things have come a long way – and you can get a smart TV for less than $200. The Vizio TVs are among the best when it comes to affordability.

Their TVs contain all the latest features of the flagship devices of reputable brands like Samsung, LG, and Sony, but with a budget-friendly price tag.

1 thought on “Where are Vizio TVs Made in 2023? Who Makes Them?”

  1. …yeah. I’ll never buy another Vizio TV again. I’ve owned two. One died after 3-4 years of infrequent use. My guess it was used less than 500 hours. The other one is a pain in the butt. The HDMI is wacko, constantly telling my DVD player to turn on even though I use it like once a season. I’m always having to reboot my Roku and Comcast boxes, and never succeeded at getting a sound bar to work via HDMI, analog OR optical, even though I spent an hour on the phone with sound bar people and another hour with Vizio. It’s cheap because it’s… CHEAP!
